EE Rook is the UK’s cheapest 4G phone

EE’s latest device, the Rook, is the most affordable 4G smartphone on currently on sale in the UK.

New customers can get the Rook for £49, whilst existing customers will only be charged £39. You will have to top up £10 when you purchase the phone, however, so total costs will be £59 and £49 for new and existing customers respectively.

So what do you get for that price? The device boasts a 4-inch display with a 480 x 800 resolution, a 5MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera. It also comes with 4G, which is unique for a device this cheap.

The Rook also has a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, support for 32GB of external storage, a 1,500mAh battery and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop.

A number of accessories, including a car charger, memory cards and a selfie stick, will also be available.
