On-demand gaming service launches in Japan, Sonic & PES titles available

Japanese cable company KDDI has beaten Playstation Now to the market by launching an app-based GameNow service, through cable.

The same company responsible for LG’s Smart TV game service, KDDI will launch GameNow with several puzzle games and sports titles, including Pro-Evolution Soccer, World Rally Championship 3 and Sonic Adventure DX.

KDDI’s Smart TV Box launched in 2012, but its new gaming service will go live at the start of March.

Meanwhile, Sony’s on-demand gaming service, Playstation Now, is still thought to be months away from launch but will allegedly arrive with a number of blockbuster titles including The Last of Us and Killzone 3.
