Microsoft has begun rolling out a major update to the Windows 8 operating system, with the long-awaited Windows 8.1 upgrade. The download is available from the Windows Store right now, with Windows 8 users getting it for absolutely nothing.

Windows 7 users can also go and get the update, but will have to pay $120 for the standard version, and $200 for Windows 8.1 Pro. If you don’t have a Windows 8 or Windows 7 PC, and have a Windows RT tablet, then you can also update for absolutely nothing right now.

Don’t have a Windows machine? No problem. Microsoft plans on selling a full-version edition of the operating system, which you can go buy from a retail store.
