First “affordable 5G phone” lands in the UK

Vodafone is now offering the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G for pre-order. The phone, which was announced at the beginning of September, is intended to be a more mid-range 5G device.

The operator is offering it on its three unlimited data plans. It is available on Unlimited Lite with speeds up to 2Mbps for £29 up front and £48 per month, Unlimited with speeds up to 10Mbps for the same upfront cost and £51 per month, and Unlimited max for the same upfront cost and £55 per month, with speeds as fast as the network will allow.

Vodafone is also offering a free pair of Samsung Ear Buds with each pre-order. It says its 5G network is now available in 15 UK towns and cities across the UK, with the ability to 5G roam in Germany, Italy and Spain at no extra cost.

The Galaxy A90 5G runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon Snapdragon 855 chipset with Android 9.0, and comes in versions with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. Both versions feature 128GB of internal storage and a 4,500mAh battery.

Additionally, it has a triple-camera setup, with a 48MP camera, and 8MP ultra-wide, a 5MP depth info sensor and a 32MP selfie camera. It has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-U display.
