Smartphone vendor Rokit named as title sponsor of F1 team Williams

Williams Racing has been rebranded as Rokit Williams Racing

US smartphone vendor Rockit has been named lead sponsor of Formula One team Williams, the team has been renamed Rokit Williams Racing and the Rokit branding will be emblazoned on the competitive car.

Smartphone debutants Rokit penned the multi-year deal replacing beverage giants Martini after a five-year partnership. The Rokit brand will be seen on race suits, helmets and trackside team kit.

Rokit announced on February 5 it will release two smartphones in the UK that will come with assault, funeral and key care insurance. The ROKiT IO 3D (£139.99) and ROKiT IO Pro 3D (£249.99) can display 3D images without the use of special glasses.

Williams came last (10th) in the 2018 Formula One World Championship for the first time in its history. It had won the constructor’s championship nine times. The new F1 season will begin on March 17 with the Australian Grand Prix. Its two drivers are George Russell (left) Robert Kubica (Right).

ROK Brands chairman Jonathan Kendrick said: “With ROKiT launching in 2019 we wanted a global platform that would help us tell our story of innovation. Williams Racing is the perfect partner. With them, we can bring F1 to audiences in new and pioneering ways.”
