Samsung’s thinnest ever handset could be making its way to western markets with a new fingerprint sensor included, after Sammobile revealed some exclusive information on the device.

The upcoming mid-range A8 was initially thought to be exclusive to the Chinese markets but now it seems that Samsung has plans to release it in Asia and Europe too. According to their sources, the A8 could feature the same fingerprint scanner as was found on the Galaxy S6, as well as themes support which is currently reserved for flagship devices only.

The A8 is expected to feature a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB of internal storage, LTE connectivity, a 3,050 mAh battery, and Android 5.0 Lollipop. For a mid-range device, the specifications look very impressive and if priced attractively, it could be a surprise hit. No news on a release date as of yet.
