You no doubt have a Remote Desktop client already on your iOS device if it’s a feature you desperately need, with TeamViewer and Splashtop 2 being the two daddys already providing the service. Now however iOS users will get an official choice from Microsoft, giving them the ability to interact with their Windows desktops easily.

The Remote Desktop app will be released to compliment the upcoming release of Windows Server 2012 R2, and will be available on iOS, Android, OS X, Windows and Windows RT.

Microsoft has commonly supported other platforms, with Office gradually making its way to iOS devices, and Xbox Live also being available.
