Meizu smartwatch leak reveals metal body and more

The latest Meizu smartwatch leak has revealed that the wearable could include a leather strap and metal body.

Meizu has been very quiet on what exactly will feature in their upcoming wearable and there’s been a lack of trusted leaks to document what we can expect. We’ve seen a few things over the past few months but nothing concrete. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has neither confirmed nor denied the existence of a Meizu smartwatch, though that seems like it could change after a more thorough leak on Weibo.

Meizu smartwatch leak – A classic smartwatch design

A user on the popular Chinese social media network has uploaded an image of what appears to be the Meizu smartwatch, showing quite a bit of detail. It looks to be quite a compact watch, with a traditional circular design. We can see in the image that the wearable features a leather strap and metal body, with the Meizu logo proudly displayed on the rear. There’s also two buttons on the side, which seems to break with the traditional one-button design found on other smartwatches. Earlier leaks pointed to a three button design, with a navigation dial around the edge of the panel.

Release rumours pointed to an August 10 launch of the Meizu smartwatch, but the manufacturer ended up only announcing the M3E smartphone. Whether they plan to release this commercially or just keep it internal remains to be seen, but we’d advise you take it with a pinch of salt.
