HTC One M9 owners can supercharge their device with a new update that has launched today.

The free update is available to HTC One M9 owners in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. North American owners will get their update later this month.

So what comes with version 1.40.401.5? Auto-exposure balance has been improved, which means your photographs will look less washed out. Noise and blur will also be reduced when you take photographs in dark light. That will make night time shots look clearer with more detail. The update also reduces yellow and green hue in photographs taken in extremely bright lights, giving them a more natural look.

The update also reduces power consumption from apps like Facebook and YouTube, allowing you to post and stream away for longer. Heat management has also been improved, which means your phone won’t get so hot whilst on charge.

It’s a great update, but it unfortunately doesn’t bring Android 5.1 Lollipop, Google’s latest operating system.
