HTC One Android 4.4 update hitting in January

If you’re an owner of a HTC One, then bravo for being the winner of the What Mobile’s reader’s choice award at our recent awards ceremony, but also be relieved because you’re set to Android 4.4 by late January – as long as you live in either the UK or North America.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that the HTC One will be getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update, but it’s now been confirmed, although it’s a little later than we had hoped – given the previous timescale we heard was within 90 days, with this being right at the tail end of that timescale.

If you don’t own a HTC One, then the update is likely to hit the One Max and One Mini in early 2014, although this remains unconfirmed. Droid DNA owners will get the update no later than March though, which is always good to know.
