Hard to beat: LG G4 Beat revealed

LG has revealed its new mid-range device. Instead of being called the LG G4S as initially rumoured, the new device’s official name is the LG G4 Beat.

Following the launch of the flagship LG G4, the LG G4 Beat comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera that uses LG’s Colour Spectrum Sensor, laser autofocus and manual mode. All this means that the phone will do a much better job of focusing on subjects, whilst the colours in photographs will appear more natural.

Head to the front of the phone and you’ll find a 5-megapixel front-facing camera complete with Gesture Interval Shot, which lets you make a single hand gesture to take four consecutive selfies.

The phone also has 8GB of internal memory and a 2,300mAh battery, alongside Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and 4G support. You can also grab the device in metallic silver, ceramic white or shiny gold.

There’ll also be a 5.2-inch screen, a 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor and 1.5GB of RAM.

Prices for the LG G4 Beat haven’t been revealed yet, but the phone is expected to have a July launch in Europe and Latin America.
