Google to improve mobile web browsing

Google have announced the Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) Project in a bid to improve mobile browsing speed.

It’s no secret that mobile browsing is nothing like its desktop counterpart. The full experience of a website is often chopped down to a shadow of its original self, and often takes an age to load. Speed is everything when it comes to the Internet and lack of speed on the Internet costs money. Viewers can grow impatient with ads loading and close it completely, making websites miss out on ad revenue and subscription.

The AMP Project  is an open source initiative which aims to have web pages open instantaneously. It will do so by allowing websites to build light weight web pages. Google are also aiming for AMP to be cross platformed, and be instantaneous on tablet, phablet and or phone.

Goolgle also announced 30 publishers on board, including Twitter, Pinterest, WordPress and LinkedIn.
