Google Now update rolling out, upgrades aplenty

It’s time for a lovely new Google Now update, it seems. Google is rolling out a new version of its Android app that adds some useful new features.

It allows for you to follow specific topics in terms of news, recommending subjects based on past searches or ones you’ve chosen to read about. A ‘What to Watch’ card also brings suggestions for movies and TV shows.

Crowdsourced Waze traffic updates are also making their way over. It will keep you up to date on alerts on your commute. Then there’s notifications for in-store pickups, real-time rugby scoring (?) and repeat reminder settings.

Nothing revolutionary, then, but a few new things to refine your lifestyle. The Google Now update complements the launch of Android 4.4, which has been rolling out to Nexus devices since the launch of the Nexus 5.
