EE to recall Power Bars due to fire hazard

EE will recall all Power Bars as there is a risk of fire safety with the portable chargers.

According to Mobile News, EE will recall all Power Bars and reimburse customers with a £20 voucher after the discovery of the hazard. Customers can drop them off in EE stores to collect the voucher. EE are expected to advise all customers in possession of the Power Bar to return them immediately. This follows an incident in August when almost 500,000 Power Bars were recalled after one caught on fire.

The Power Bars were a scheme to keep EE mobile and broadband customers constantly charged. EE customers could walk into an EE store and grab a 2600 mAh Power Bar to charge their device on the go. Once the Power Bar is empty customers can then swap it for a fully charged one.

EE has yet to comment.
