Chromecast-friendly apps now highlighted on Play Store

Last week we heard about the Play Store being optimised for tablet-developed apps. Today a new upgrade will now do the same for Chromecast-friendly apps.

Chromecast is a dongle-like drive that can be plugged into your TV for run apps on the big screen. With this upgrade there’s now a Chromecast section in the store that will list all compatible apps. Right now it’s limited to the likes of Google’s own media apps and TV services like Hulu Plus and Netflix.

We can see it growing over time though, and we’ll welcome anything that makes the Play Store easier to navigate.
