Google appears to be learning from its mistakes with the memory leaks on Android Lollipop, as the new Android M Developer Preview 2 contains a memory management feature specifically designed to avoid potential issues.
Although Android Lollipop runs a lot better on low-end devices versus its predecessors, there’s one thing that it has never gotten right since initially being introduced: memory management. Story after story of devices hitting their RAM limits and having some of the most sluggish performance imaginable have swept the internet, putting a downer on an otherwise great operating system.
Thankfully, things are about to get a whole lot more responsive with the introduction of Android M. Google are finally introducing a new memory management tool that should put an end to the annoying memory leaks which see your RAM hitting 99% after a few hours of use. The Android M developer preview 2 has an early version of this software on board, so Android aficionados will be able to get a chance to try it out for themselves.
