You snooze, you lose; Milestone sells out in hours

With no official UK distribution by any phone network, Expansys.com became the only place UK customers would be able to get the second Motorola Android handset, sold under the ‘Milestone‘ name.

The Android 2.0 powered device is the world’s thinnest QWERTY slider (13.7mm) and was originally planned for release on December 4th. Although that date slipped by almost a week, Expansys claims to have had received well over 1,000 pre-orders on its website.

If you weren’t quick enough to get on the reserve list after we exclusively announced the release on November 26th then you’re now going to have to wait a little longer for more deliveries to arrive.

Nobody would confirm the exact number of Milestone’s Expansys actually received. If they only got five then that’s another story, but we’re guessing it was at least 1,000, which is still a pretty decent number of sales in a matter of hours.

The Milestone is selling SIM-free for £449.99 or £49.99 on a T-Mobile contract at £35 per month.

Note: The website is currently showing the device as being still available. It isn’t!
