Xperia Z1 mini looks to be real, leaks suggest

Enjoyed your week and a half of Xperia Z1 ownership? Think it could be just a little bit smaller? Sony hears you.

The Xperia Z1 f has been unofficially revealed thanks to leaked documents (below), supposedly belonging to Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo. The leaked notes detail the local version of the Z1 but also make mention of this new device, which is said to be a smaller version of the flagship.

It looks to measure in at 127 x 64.9 x 9.4 mm, which is a fair bit smaller than the original Z1’s offering of 144 x 74 x 8.5 mm. It shrinking doesn’t stop there: the phone will apparently have a 4.3 inch screen running 720p over the Z1’s 5 inch 1080p-capable one, while the battery will be at 2300 mAh as opposed to the 3000 mAh on the bigger model. As you can see from the leaked image below, its design pretty much follows along the same lines.

Given that we’re not too far away from the Z1’s launch date, don’t expect there to be an official announcement of this new device in the near future, although we suppose it is possible for it to see release in time for Christmas.
