Vodafone has announced two new budget devices available for under £200, the Vodafone Smart V8 smartphone and the Vodafone Smart Tab N8.

Although they carry the Vodafone branding, both devices have actually been manufactured by ZTE and TCL respectively.

The Vodafone Smart V8 features a 2.5D glass screen and rear facing fingerprint sensor. It’s powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, an entry-level mid-tier chip with eight cores. The rear camera is 16MP, while the front shooter is 8MP. The handset is equipped with a 5.5 inch display Full HD display and 3GB of RAM, plus 32GB of included storage. It runs on the latest version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

The Vodafone Smart Tab N8 carries a 10.1 inch display with a lesser WXGA resolution. It’s powered by a quad core MediaTek 8735B processor, which is a variant designed for use within tablets. Internal memory is a low 16GB with no expansion option… this could be problematic for some users. The main rear camera is five megapixels, while the front snapper is just two megapixels. The tablet will run Android 7.0 Nougat.

Vodafone is offering both of these devices at very cheap prices. Customers can by the Smart V8 for £160 pay as you go, or £23 per month for a 12 month contract which includes unlimited calls, texts and 1GB data. The Smart Tab N8 is available for £129 when you buy a £10 big value bundle and on contract for £10 a month with a £30 up front payment.
