Vodafone has launched the first prepay phone specifically designed for Facebook users. The Vodafone 555 Blue was developed in collaboration with Facebook and makes it easy to do status updates and share photos.

The phone will begin working with Facebook as soon as you take it out of the box and enter your login details, with Facebook messages appearing in your inbox alongside texts and emails.

A 2-megapixel camera takes photos that can be uploaded with a single click to Facebook, while your contacts are synchronised with your phonebook. All updates happen in the background automatically to offer quick access when opened.

A dedicated ‘F’ button can be assigned to perform a range of Facebook functions, like instantly posting a status update or adding photos and links.

The Vodafone 555 Blue has a 2.4-inch touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard, with Opera Mini 5 being included for web browsing. It will be released in selected Vodafone markets around the world, but it is not yet clear if the UK will be included.

Customers looking for a similar experience in the UK also have the Android-powered HTC ChaCha as a higher-end alternative.
