Most dog owners are very responsible people who keep paths and parks clean, but now there’s an app that can help keep streets clean even when a few dog walkers fail to clean up after their dogs.

A new app from Orange isn’t just for dog owners, but for anyone that can now use an app to report dog mess by taking a geotagged photo that is reported automatically to the local council.

What’s more, the same app can also be used to report graffiti and litter – all helping keep the streets of Britain clean.

The service is available as part of Orange’s ‘Do Some Good’ app, available to Android, iPhone, BlackBerry and Nokia owners. The app is designed to allow people to volunteer to do good deeds in small, bite-sized, chunks.

Since its launch in March 2011, over 15,000 mobile volunteers have given up more than 1,500 hours of their time to 15 good causes.
