It’s here. It’s finally here. The day we’ve been waiting for for so long. First of all there was Christmas, but that turned out to be a false prophet. The second coming of March was a lie too. But now, Watch Dogs has a real, set-in-stone release date: May 27th.

Developers Ubisoft announced the date this afternoon via the official Watch Dogs Twitter account – its first tweet since January 9th. The date applies to the Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One and PS4.

Just when you thought your day couldn’t get any better, we’ve also been treated to a pretty thorough new trailer for the game’s main story. So far not much has been revealed, with previous footage choosing to focus on all the exciting gameplay available. The trailer tells us an awful lot more about the game’s protagonist – master hacker and thief Aiden Pearce – and just who he’s out to exact revenge on throughout the course of Watch Dogs.

Feast your eyes on its wonders below, and make sure to check back as we get closer to the big day to stay fully up to date with what might well be the most anticipated title of this year (and the last).
