The Motorola Moto 360 is on its way. We know it, you know it, everybody knows it. It feels like waiting for Christmas as a child – there’s nothing we can do to speed up the time, and thinking about it only makes the wait seem longer, but we can’t help it. The Moto 360 is a genuinely exciting product, and if it lives up to expectations then it could go down as one of the most important technological creations in recent history.

So Motorla better make sure it looks good, then. The company announced a competition on Google+ nearly a month ago  asking for designers to send in their own renderings of the Moto 360’s face. That is to say, the basic face of the watch which shows when you want it to function in a classic, old-timey watch-like manner, i.e. 99% of your day, which is rather a lot of time, meaning this is quite important.

We don’t know how many entries there were, but we do know what the final ten selected by Motorola look like. So prepare to get even more hyped for one of the most talked-about products of the year, and feast your eyes on the finalists below. Be sure to click to enlarge the designs.

UPDATE: Motorola has selected a winner! It revealed on its official blog that David Pascual’s fantastic effort is to be the lucky chosen one set to come pre-loaded as an aesthetic option on every single Moto 360 sold. Not bad. We just hope that all of the exceptional runners-up put their designs up for download at some point, too.
