A joint venture will create the UK’s leading mobile operator, with a customer base of around 28.4 milliion users, equating to 37% of UK mobile subscribers (excluding Virgin Media subscribers).
The move will also allow the joint venture to offer converged solutions, integrating Orange’s broadband activities, expand network coverage both indoors and outdoors, plus improve retailing through a combined network of shops. Customer services will also be merged.
If approved, each network will retain its current identity for at least 18-months.
