Spotify for Windows Phone 8 graduates from beta

Spotify has only been on Windows Phone 8 since February, after many months of absence whilst the team worked on improving the app that had previously been available to Windows Phone 7.

When that app hit the marketplace, it did so with a beta tag prominently displayed next to it.

We’re now in July and are finally hearing word from Microsoft’s own Joe Belfiore that the app has finally graduated from beta, bringing with it a whole host of new features.

Included in the new app are things Android and iOS users have gotten used to for a while, those things include track scrubbing, additional languages and offline playlist improvements.

Oddly, Spotify has never offered fast forwarding through a track on the Windows Phone platform so this is a big thing for Windows Phone users who love Spotify.

The update may take a few hours to show up, as Belfiore notes, but music loves can now breathe a sigh of relief.
