If you want an Android phone on the cheap, then today you have yet another option — the Sony Xperia U, as it has finally gone on sale in the UK courtesy of Expansys.

Costing just £124.99, the Xperia U features a 3.5-inch WVGA display, with a resolution of 480×854.

As expected from a budget device, it does only come with 512MB of RAM and a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz.

The 5MP snapper on the back is using Sony’s rather impressive EXMOR sensor, which means that whilst photos won’t look as impressive as the Xperia Z, you’ll still going to be getting great results.

There is a major downside to this phone though, with it initially being announced in 2012, meaning that it is now over a year old.

It also is only capable of running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is not upgradeable to Jelly Bean.

That said, there’s a lot about this phone to like, including its incredibly cheap price.
