SanDisk launches its fastest microSD card

SanDisk has (again) announced its fastest microSD card, offering storage comparable to a laptop, with ridiculous write up speeds.

There will be two new microSD cards from SanDisk, and they will be the first to be released since being acquired by Western Digital. Both microSD cards will have a storage capacity of 256GB, offering frighteningly quick transfer speeds.

The *takes a deep breath* 256GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card Premium Edition, is the card we’re most interested in, as it is more focused on adding secondary storage for smartphone and tablets. It offers 95MB/s transfer speeds, allowing users to to transfer 1,200 photos in under a minute.

SanDisk also introduced their fastest microSD card, the *deep breath again* 256GB Extreme microSDXC UHS-I card. SanDisk claims the card offers speed of 100MB/s and 90MB/s respectively. It’s of course compatible with smartphones and extremely ideal for drones. it can store up to 14 hours of 4K Ultra-HD footage.

Both cards also boast to be waterproof, shock proof, X-ray proof and heat resistance. You can manage the data on both cards using the SanDisk Memory Zone app for Android.

The 256GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card, Premium Edition, will release worldwide in August 2016 for $149.99

The 256GB SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-I has yet to receive a specified time frame, but SanDisk claim it will release later this year for $199.99.
