Samsung to produce iPad Mini retina displays says WSJ

Apple was said to be eyeing LG and Sharp displays for its next-generation iPad Mini, displays which were meant to be retina — although rumours have started that the device is facing possible delays due to supplier issues.

Now it looks like the WSJ has taken it a step further by saying that the company has been forced to resort to calling in Samsung to ensure there are no delays.

We wouldn’t take the report with anything more than a pinch of salt, supplier leaks have been found to be false before.  Although it would be interesting if Apple has been forced to rely on its arch nemesis — even in a situation where it is deliberately trying not to.
