Samsung reveal Galaxy Pocket – will Apple be upset?

What Mobile
March 7, 2012

Samsung aren’t done with new product announcements after last week’s Mobile World Congress. The Galaxy Pocket is yet another Galaxy based phone, following the Galaxy Y which caused raised eyebrows and anger from Apple due to the fact it looked very much like an iPhone 3GS.

The Galaxy Pocket is a mini Android phone with a small 2.3 inch display and Android Gingerbread. 2.3 installed as standard. There’s 3GB of storage and the usual Micro SD card slot and HSDPA connection for fast data transfer. On the surface, the Galaxy Pocket is a good budget option for music fans and casual Facebook fans.

Promising an upgraded TouchWiz interface, Samsung are keeping quiet on release date and price but has announced the phone to cut rivals off at the pass as a mass of budget Android phones hit the market in the next couple of months. ChatON, Samsung’s answer to What’s App, is also embedded as an app, allowing group chat and content sharing across devices.

Check out the specs and design below – are Apple going to get excited about this Galaxy in the same way as the Galaxy Y?
