According to Samsung, the Lucido offers “uncompromising design – with distinctive contours, clean lines and vibrant colour” and is set to redefine the traditional bar handset. In February, the south Korean manufacturer stated its intention to push harder in the (candy) bar market, having acknowledged it as an area of weakness in the manufacturer’s handset portfolio.

The phone will be released on all networks and through all major retailers in April 2009.

The Samsung Lucido has the latest technology to complement its stylish design. It has premium metal detailing and a very slim form factor (11.8mm), despite being positioned at a mid-range price point.

The non-touchscreen handset has a bright 2.2-inch AM-OLED display for clear, bright images and video with an extemely high contrast ratio. It is dual GSM/3G with 7.2Mbps HSDPA support, and on the rear of the phone is a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with face detection, smile shot and anti-blur technology.

The phone also has GPS and a memory card slot, allowing the use of cards up to 16GB.
