We’re watching the development of Google Glass with a lot of anticipation, and it looks like Samsung is hoping to feed off of that.
The company is rumoured to be prepping the Samsung Gear Glass to go up against Google’s device. That is according to a tweet from Russian blogger, Eldar Murtazin, who claims that such a device could be revealed around April or May next year. The Samsung Gear Glass sounds about in line with the Galaxy Gear, the company’s smartwatch offering.
Murtazin’s track record isn’t always spot on, but he has been the source of some reveals in the past.
Given just how long we’ve been hearing about Google Glass, it’s odd that Samsung would reveal its own competitor while its still in development stages. We guess the company would look to set the trend rather than follow it, not that that really worked in the Galaxy Gear’s favour. Still, Google’s device will need competition and we’re more than happy to see it come from Samsung.
