While the Samsung Galaxy S II has since been eclipsed by the fantastic Galaxy S III, Samsung is showing no signs of putting it out to pasture, as rumours indicate an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is on the way.

With close to 30 million Galaxy S II handsets sold since its launch last year and the device still proving more than capable of running Google latest OS, the news will be greatly appreciated by Android fans.

According to Samsung fan-site Sam Mobile, Samsung is currently testing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on the Galaxy S II, with a release of the new update rumoured to be scheduled for September or October 2012.
