Following the announcement of the new BlackBerry Torch, RIM has today announced the new Curve 3G.

Although shipping with BlackBerry OS 5, the Curve 3G will be ‘OS 6 ready’ and join the list of existing models (Bold 9700 and Pearl 3G) that can be upgraded to RIM’s fancy new operating system, showcased on the BlackBerry Torch last week.

The new Curve adds 3G with HSDPA, as well as including 802.11n (Wireless-N) Wi-Fi support, GPS, BlackBerry Messaging, expandable memory (up to 32GB), optical navigation pad and dedicated media keys.

It is likely to be released by most UK networks and will be sold as a more affordable entry into the BlackBerry arena.
