Real Madrid Stadium could be getting Microsoft branding

The Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in Spain is home to one of the most world-renowned football teams, Real Madrid. It’s more commonly referred to as the Bernabéu, but Microsoft are looking to change that.

The company has confirmed that it’s having talks to acquire naming rights to the stadium. Presumably it would add its own name into the mix somehow if it were successful. Unless it was named the ‘Surface Stadium’, but we really hope that doesn’t happen.

Microsoft Spain’s Maria Garana recently told a Spanish outlet: “We have an excellent relationship with Real Madrid and in fact we recently signed an agreement with its foundation. They’ve raised, as have other companies, renaming the stadium and we’re only talking about this possibility.”

Would you like to see one of tech’s biggest brands in one of sporting’s biggest venues? No doubt any such deal would cost in the millions, but there are certainly worse ways to get your name out there.
