Panasonic reveal iPhone SC PMX 5 hi-fi

Panasonic are set to reveal a new smartphone and iPhone compatible hi-fi in Hamburg today. We’re at the European press conference and have been given details of a new iPhone hi-fi system ahead of the Japanese lifting the lid on their new smartphone.

The SC PMX 5 hi-fi is a micro hi-fi with iPod and iPhone compatibility. The top of the base unit includes the dock for iPod or iPhone and boasts a digital connection. By taking the digital feed from iPod or iPhone, the SC PMX 5 converts sound data which ultimately results in a better sound if you use high quality iTunes files or opt for the new Extreme setting in Spotify which upgrades your music collection to 320kbps quality. A diagram explaining the process can be seen below and Panasonic have confirmed a March UK launch for the SC PMX 5.
