Spending money to top up your prepay account is probably not a very fun experience, but Orange is hoping that the process will be a little less painful with the introduction of a competition element.
Each time a customer tops up, by any amount, they will be given a 1 in 3 chance to instantly win a prize. To begin with, prizes will have a ‘fun in the sun’ theme for the Spring and Summer months, including thousands of non-mobile prizes like European breaks, weekends away in the UK, VIP tickets to Glastonbury, portable BBQs, beach towels, frisbees, juggling balls and giant beach balls.
Prizes will then be changed later in the year for Autumn and Winter.
If a customer wins a mobile prize, such as extra credit or text bundles, these will be redeemable by replying ‘Yes’ to the text. Otherwise, prizes can be claimed via a special website at www.orange.co.uk/brighttopups.
Non prize winners can claim a 2 for 1 entry voucher for top attractions, including Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo, Legoland, Madame Tussauds London or the London Dungeons.
