Orange has today launched a new low budget touch-screen device for prepay customers.

The ‘Vegas’ handset, which Orange claims to be the smallest and lightest touch screen handset available in the UK, costs £48.50 and is available in a choice of black and pink.

Features includes a 2.4 inch touch screen, 128MB internal memory plus a micro SD slot expandable up to 4GB, a 1.3 megapixel camera, video, MP3 and media player and an FM radio.

Orange claims the device is ideal for users of social networking sites such as Bebo, Facebook and MySpace, which they can access free via the Dolphin tariff when they top up £10 per month. This also includes £10 of credit, and 300 texts.

Orange UK director of devices Francois Mahieu said: “The Vegas is the perfect handset for customers who wish to have the touch screen experience without breaking the bank.

“It provides a good functionality with a touch screen at a cheap and affordable price. Combined with our pay as you go Dolphin it really does offer consumers tremendous value.”
