One third of all Samsung Galaxy Gears are returned

We knew that the Samsung Galaxy Round, the company’s first smartwatch, was in for a rough time. Lukewarm reviews and a sluggish performance didn’t bode well. Still, reports that one third of all smartwatches are returned to the shop surprises us all the same.

That’s according to an alleged leaked document from US retailer Best Buy, picked up by Geek.com.

The document states: “The Galaxy Gear attachment rate within Best Buy is the highest among all channels; however the overall return rate is trending above 30 per cent.”

That’s just under one third, or potentially above depending on the mentionned trend.

The Smartwatch comes as an accessory to the Galaxy Note 3 phablet. So people are happy with the phone itself, but returning the Gear. Ouch.

Samsung will unodubtedly be working on a second generation of the Gear that can hopefully clear some of the previous issues up. Perhaps it’s best to wait a bit before getting into this market.
