The Xda Zest is the latest O2 branded smartphone to be added to the range, and will be available before Christmas on Pay&Go (prepay) and pay monthly (contract) connections.
It’s aimed at ‘first time’ PDA users that are looking to swap from ordinary handsets to something that can do a lot more. For example, the Xda Zest includes a GPS receiver and a two-week trail of ALK’s CoPilot satellite navigation service. There’s also HSDPA support (for fast 3G data access), Wi-Fi, an FM radio, Windows Media Player and a 3-megapixel camera.
Windows Mobile 6.1 means the Xda Zest can also run a huge range of applications designed for the Microsoft operating system, of which many are already pre-loaded including the mobile editions of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
The Xda Zest goes on sale from the 17th November and will be priced initially at £249.99 on Pay&Go and free on most pay monthly contracts.
