So far, the X5 is planned for release in Indonesia in Q3 – but we hope this phone will make it to UK shores as it joins a new market of small, compact, phones with keyboards; such as the Motorola Flipout and Sony Ericsson’s forthcoming X10 mini pro.
The phone has a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, a 2GB memory card supplied (but expandable to 32GB) and runs on Symbian’s Series 60 3rd Edition. The phone introduces some new input options, such as spinning the phone to switch the music player to a random track – or shaking the phone to reveal the number of unread messages waiting.

The phone is expected to retail SIM-free for £160 or less, including VAT.
On the same day, Nokia also announced the new X6 8GB – the third X6 model that will be even more affordable. This means the X6 can now be purchased with 8, 16 or 32GB memory capacities.
