Next iteration of Google Glass planned for 2014?

Looking forward to the official release of the Google Glass? How about the Google Glass 2? Reports are coming in that the next iteration of the device is already in development, and will come in 2014.

Right now the gadget is only available to a handful of developers and early adopters. With this next iteration is said to be designed to be much more consumer-friendly. That should mean its design is dramatically improved. If true, then expect that new model to release next year, meaning you’ll never see the original version of the device on your own eyeballs.

“If we use the automobile analogy, we believe this would be the Model T. It’s lightweight, it’s comfortable, it’s cool,” said Dr Mary Lou Jepsen, head of Google’s labs display division.

“You become addicted to the speed of it, and it lets you do more ‘ fast and easily.”

It’s a little odd to hear of the next iteration of a model before we’ve even seen the first, but we’ll make an exception here if it means we get an even cooler Glass when it finally releases.
