It looks like Apple will be getting some new digs soon enough. Cupertino City Council has given the go ahead for a new Apple headquarters.

A deal was struck after Apple agreed to a reduced tax rebate. The council will now only give back 35 percent sales tax instead of the usual 50 percent, effectively saving them a lot of money. In exchange, Apple will today be granted permission to start building its new campus.

And what a campus it shall be. The new Apple headquarters are said to be circular, meaning in at 2.8 million square feet. You can see a concept of the gigantic new building above. It’s complete with space for 2,400 vehicles, a 100,000 square foot gym and a 120,000 square foot auditorium (where we’ll see many an idevice announcement we’re sure).

The new Apple headquarters should be ready to go in 2016. Start the countdown.
