Meizu Pro 5 can take the heat

Meizu announced their new flagship phone the Meizu Pro 5 last month but can it take the heat? The literal heat?

The Meizu Pro 5 packs the octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420. the same processor seen in the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and Galaxy Note 5. With the Exynos 7420, the Meizu Pro 5 had proven recently that it’s an excellent performer, getting more out of the Exynos 7420 than Samsung’s own devices.

But despite all that power does this mean it will overheat more? The aforementioned Samsung devices handle heat extremely well and there’s no reason to think that the Meizu Pro 5 will give you a new birthmark. But better to be safe than sorry.

test 1

Test one was done through AnTuTu’s benchmark test for the length of five minutes. The Pro 5 scored 76K points, the temperature at the front was 39.5 degrees Celsius. At the back of the smartphone the temperature was just 37.3 degrees with an average of about 35.8 degrees. Maintaining temperatures below 40 degrees is an excellent sign.

test 2

Test two was to see how well it does running a full HD video for ten minutes. The front was just 34.6 degrees with the average being 32.4 degrees. As for the back of the smartphone, the temperature was 34.2 degrees with the average being 33.5 degrees.

Overall the Meizu Pro 5 had proven to be able to withstand the demands that will be asked of it when it’s released.
