Apple Watch wearer Jørgen Mouritzen has claimed his Apple Watch heated up to a point where he suffered severe burns from it.

According to Danish website Ekstra Bladet the incident took place on October 17th, with Mouritzen waiting for the results from Apple’s own investigation. An eyewitness agreed with Mouritzen’s claim that the injuries he suffered came from the Apple’s smartwatch.

Apple have since announced after examinations, there was no evidence to suggest that the watch or the band had caused Mr Mouritzen’s injuries. Apple added that the damage was from an external source, and there are no electronics within the Apple Watch to burn a wearer.

Apple warns users that there are some material that can cause an allergic reaction, which should be checked first before purchase.

Mouritzen’s injuries are noticeable with deep scars around his wrist. He has requested Apple replace his current Apple Watch but the electronic giant has made no further comments on the matter.
