LG Q3 – 12 million smartphones shipped, sales increase

LG Q3 results are next up on this month’s financial platter, and the company has done pretty well for itself.

Overall, the company saw an increase on operating profit over LG Q3 2012. Results rose 27 percent to some $196.34 million. Consolidated revenue is up 12 percent over the same period last year to $12.51 billion.

While the company has seen its share of troubles in the TV market, its mobile section seems to be doing well. Sales for the third quarter hit $2.75 billion, which is a 24 percent increase from last year. That works out to some 12 million smartphone sales, which will include its flagship LG G2. The company noted that it would be looking to increase sales of the device over the coming holiday period too.

The company did note that stiff competition had hurt its overall profit, no doubt referring to the likes of Samsung and Apple. We’re hoping to see the reveal of the company’s own curved smartphone next month, so new devices are inbound.
