Want Android 4.4 KitKat on a shiny Nexus device but don’t own the brand new Nexus 5? Fear not – the KitKat Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 are inbound today.

The official Android Twitter account confirmed as much, stating that the updates would come ‘starting today’. It’s also assures that the update will arrive on both the 2012 and 2013 editions of Google’s mini tablet. However those that own a 3G or 4G Nexus 7 will have to wait just a little bit longer, as well as Nexus 4 users. Google does promise that it will be with you soon, however.

We’ve heard from a few other companies about Android 4.4. HTC One fans shoulder see it in January, although Google versions of the phone will get it this month. Motorola will be adding support soon too, though Samsung and Song have remained quiet.

Good news for Android fans that aren’t up to date on the latest smartphone, then. Will you be using the KitKat Nexus 7 or Nexus 10 update?
