Despite fighting extradition to the United States on copyright infringement charges which could see him receive decades of prison time, German-Finnish entrepreneur Kim Dotcom has found time to develop and release Mega, a cloud file sharing service which will soon be available on iOS.

The service was launched in March to mark the one year anniversary of the US government seizing and taking down megaupload.com and offers users an automatic 50GB of storage space with the potential to expand to 4TB.

Today’s news, announced on the Mega blog, outlines the plans to follow the current Android version with an iOS port offering similar services, in the near future.

Dotcom continues to deny the charges against him by the US government who claims the website Megaupload has cost the entertainment industry $500 million in lost revenues. At its peak Megaupload had 150 million registered users.
