We’re still not convinced that smart watches will be the next big thing after the rise of smartphones and tablets. Still, we can’t count anything out until Apple’s had its say, and the rumoured iWatch will undoubtedly bring this type of device to the mainstream. Today, new rumours have popped up surrounding the electronics giant’s new toy, suggesting that is could be using a flexible design, with the company currently testing three different display sizes.

A report from Chosun Iilbo suggests that, along with the bendy plastic OLED monitor, the final version of the watch will support either a 1.3 inch, 1.4 inch or 1.5 inch display. Apparently the larger of those models even has a prototype.

When Apple might reveal its new baby is unknown – we suspect the fact that we’re yet to see any more concrete leaks means that its still a fair way off, although the company won’t want to be giving the Samsung Galaxy Gear too much of a head start. That said, we suspect Samsung itself will be watching closely to see how Apple pulls ahead, along with other companies waiting to test the waters of this new type of device.
