iPhone users can now order train tickets from their phone with the latest version of the The Trainline app. Tickets can then be collected from hundreds of stations around the country.
In addition to planning routes, the full payment process for tickets can be carried out within the application. Users must first create an account with TheTrainline.com, which can be done form the app or via the website.
The app can also store timetables for offline viewing, a ‘next train home’ feature and selected taxi numbers for each station, plus tube information for travellers in London.
For selected routes, the option of receiving secure barcodes will eventually remove the need to collect tickets at all.
The app has been developed by Trapeze Group and is available now from the App Store.
