A fresh image leak posted on Twitter by OnLeaks contributor Steve Hemmerstoffer has revealed a pretty interesting new addition to the Huawei P9; Dual Leica cameras.

The photo was confirmed today by GSMArena who posted yet another leaked render showing the device in much closer detail.

Leica announced way back in February that they would be partnering with Huawei to ‘re-invent’ mobile photography and it seems like this could be the fruits of their labour. With two Leica Summarit lenses (the affordable range, but still very expensive and premium nonetheless), it’s expected that the cameras will have an f/2.2 aperture and 27mm focal length. This should allow for a nice balance of wide-angle photography without the associated negatives like barrel distortion.

The Huawei P9 is expected to include the new HiSilicon Kirin 955 flagship processor and 3GB RAM, which should make for a pretty potent combo. It will also have a 1920 x 1080 IPS-NEO screen, which is supposed to provide more brightness at the expense of less power. The dual rear cameras could be as high as 12 megapixels each, which is a lot of photography power. The 8 megapixel front camera is also pretty high, which should mean plenty of quality selfies.
